The Liars Room
Simon Lelic
This is a darkly disturbing psychological thriller that doesn’t disappoint. The book is pretty much set in one room and tells the story of a counsellor, Susannah, and a new patient, Adam. As soon as Adam walks into the room Susannah senses a familiarity with him, although she can’t recollect from where. What begins as an innocent counselling session ends up revealing a series of dark secrets and lies that have been hidden for many years. This is an atmospheric and compelling book where what happened in the past haunts the present, and once started is impossible to put down.
