Talented Sport Performer - guidelines

The Talented Sport Performer Award supports athletes living in Glasgow. The award provides funded access to world class venues in the city.

The award is open to athletes competing at or aiming to compete at national level within the next 12 months.

The eligibility criteria is below:

  • Athletes living within the Glasgow City Council Boundary.

  • Athletes from sports recognised by sportscotland

  • Athletes who have been selected or competed for Scotland or Great Britain in the past 12 months OR

  • Athletes who show they are or will be competing at national level within 12 months.

TSP provides athletes with access to Glasgow Club facilities.

All awarded athletes receive funded access to our gyms and swimming pools.

TSP's can apply for a £300 allowance that supports their training programme. This is non-transferable and can only be used to book spaces in our venues.

Award decisions are made by a Glasgow Life Sport panel.

We will contact your National Governing Body for supporting evidence. This evidence and your application will be use to make an award decision.

The following priorities will guide decisions on the £300 non-transferable allowance:

  • The need of the athlete.

  • The impact this will make on the development of the athlete.

  • The requirements of the sport the athlete competes within.

The TSP award activates when you return the award paperwork. This includes a TSP Agreement and Fair Usage Policy of Glasgow Club facilities.

You will receive a TSP card and you can use this to phone or book in person at our Glasgow Club venues. If you have any issues you can contact us at grants@glasgowlife.org.uk

Our ask when you have the funding is to acknowledge Glasgow Life support on social media.

The support has been incredibly helpful. The improvements made to my performances have been significant. In the last year I have become a Scottish Champion as well as representing Scotland at events across the UK. I cannot stress how valuable the support has been and how much it is appreciated.
