Sessions for all Abilities

We offer exciting sessions for all abilities. For more information use the links below.  

This coach-led session gives families the opportunity to experience the thrill of the track together for the first time. It’s perfect for novice riders as an introduction to track cycling but does not count towards accreditation. For those with more experience or looking to advance, please check out our accreditation sessions.

The minimum age is 8, and the maximum ratio is 1 adult to 2 riders under 16.

Bike hire, helmet, and cleats are included, and the session lasts 45 minutes.

To participate, at least one person in your group must be under 16. Family sessions are designed for novice or young riders to enjoy the track alongside their family.

Discipline Specific Training 

Tuesday

20:00 - 22:00

These sessions are for riders who are accredited and are ready to test their fitness and skills against other riders. This session involves advanced track riding techniques and simulated race scenarios.

The Sprint/Pursuit Session is designed for riders looking to specialise in track sprinting and pursuit events.

This session focuses on building speed, power, and tactical awareness through specific drills and timed efforts, allowing riders to refine their technique in both sprint and pursuit disciplines.

 Whether you’re preparing for competitive racing or simply aiming to improve your performance, you'll receive expert coaching to help you enhance your explosive power, pacing strategies, and race craft.

Perfect for riders of all abilities, this session provides a structured, high-energy environment to push your limits and elevate your track skills.

These sessions typically focus on start gate or Derny training, providing riders with the opportunity to enhance their skills and build fitness using equipment not available during regular Open sessions.

Para cycling sessions are customized coaching sessions for riders with physical and learning disabilities, providing a chance to stay fit and enhance their skills and technique with expert guidance.

Wednesday

19:00 - 21:30

The Youth Development Session at the velodrome for accredited riders is designed to enhance technical skills and race strategies.

Riders will engage in focused drills and receive personalised feedback to deepen their understanding of race dynamics.

This session fosters both physical and mental growth, preparing young athletes for competition while promoting discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The two-hour sessions are held on Wednesdays from 19:30 to 21:30, with a roller warm-up starting at 19:00.

The Women's Only Session offers a supportive and empowering environment for female riders of all abilities.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced cyclist, this session provides the perfect opportunity to develop your skills, build confidence, and enjoy track cycling with other women.

Led by qualified coaches, you'll focus on improving bike handling, technique, and fitness, while benefiting from a welcoming atmosphere that encourages personal growth and camaraderie.

Join us for a fun, safe, and motivating experience on one of the most iconic tracks in the world.

Private bookings at the velodrome allow individuals or clubs to customise track time to suit their specific needs.

These sessions can include a Glasgow Life coach, or you’re welcome to bring your own personal coach (provided they are a level 2 or Coaching in Context British Cycling-accredited Track Coach).
