Useful Local Archives for the west of scotland

Glasgow University Archives: particularly strong in business and maritime history sources.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Archive: the first port of call for hospital and medical records.
Areas surrounding Glasgow have, in many cases, their own archive office. Contact Ayrshire Archives. Contact details for other local authority archives can be found on the Scottish Archive Network website.
