About Special Collections

Since the original premises in Miller Street opened its doors in 1877, The Mitchell Library has acquired a number of interesting and important collections through purchase or donation. Some of these are listed on the left. For information about all the Special Collections housed in The Mitchell Library, please contact the department. Subject strengths include Glasgow, Scottish Literature and early printed books.  Highlights:
