Phase 2, Ward 20, Music for Baillieston
As part of Glasgow Life’s Creative Communities Artists in Residence programme for Ward 20, Baillieston, Bit Collective delivered an intergenerational music project centred on the simplicity and inclusivity of folk traditions.
Rooted in community collaboration, the project engaged local primary schools and pre-existing groups to develop and share music, with a strong emphasis on Gaelic material in anticipation of a new Gaelic school in the area. The work was supported by Glasgow Life’s GUIR! project. The residency culminated in a series of uplifting outdoor performances and concerts for care homes, celebrating shared heritage through song.
