Witness the evolution of a vital voice in contemporary music as Belfast-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dani Larkin launches her highly anticipated sophomore record, Next Of Kin at Celtic Connections.
Larkin’s journey, which began with her critically acclaimed debut Notes For A Maiden Warrior (2021), has already seen her ascend to the international stage, featuring at SXSW and WOMEX, and touring with giants like Snow Patrol, Lisa O'Neill, and Glen Hansard. Her artistry has pushed the boundaries of genre, notably in collaborations with the Ulster Orchestra and RTÉ Concert Orchestra, showcased on national television (BBC Two) with the release of Between Worlds (2022).
Expect a stunning fusion of Larkin’s signature storytelling and intricate, percussive acoustic guitar work with bold, new sonic textures. The album weaves together field recordings from Palestine and haunting re-imaginings of Irish traditional songs like 'She Moved Through The Fair' and 'Danny Boy'.
Dani Larkin is fast positioning herself within the modern folk canon alongside artists like Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver, proving herself a true 'artist of the times'. Don’t miss the chance to be among the first to hear this eagerly awaited music live.
