Project Smok bring their progressive take on Scottish traditional music to Saint Luke’s for an evening of infectious rhythm and instrumental virtuosity. This neo-trad trio of BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2020, Ali Levack (pipes), Ewan Baird (bodhran) and Pablo Lafuente (guitar) are at their most comfortable pushing boundaries, making listeners stop and re-evaluate their musical expectations. Known for their ability to effortlessly blend trad music with contemporary new-age pop influences, Project Smok do away with any perceived limits of the genre from the first note.
Supporting the band is Gaelic singer Katie Macfarlane. Influenced by her connections to North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Katie has had a passion for Gaelic song all her life. A semi-finalist in both BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician and BBC Radio 2's Young Folk Award competitions, her 2023 debut album sees her collaborate with some of the finest musicians in Scotland and Catalonia.
