Teddy Thompson performs songs from his 2023 album My Love of Country at Celtic Connections 2024. The album, a collection of tunes made famous by the likes of Hank Williams, George Jones, Patsy Cline, and more, is Thompson’s love letter to Nashville’s golden era. The simplicity and emotional intensity of classic country has been a big part of Thompson’s sound as an artist, which the New York Times calls “beautifully finessed” and NPR hails as “the musical equivalent of an arrow to the heart.”
Joining Teddy at the City Halls is four-time Grammy Award-winner Sarah Jarosz. Texas-born Sarah’s seventh full-length release, Polaroid Lovers, is an album-long meditation on those strangely ephemeral moments that indelibly shape our lives. Thanks to the finely wrought lyricism, ravishing vocal work, and virtuosic yet unfettered musicality, Polaroid Lovers performs the much-needed magic of leading us toward a heightened sense of presence — all while casting a lovely spell with her timelessly powerful songs.
