‘Be embraced, you millions. This kiss is for the whole world!’ It’s Beethoven’s 250th birthday this year, and there’s no more joyous way to launch our Season than with his mighty Choral Symphony. Thomas Søndergård conducts the massed forces of the RSNO and RSNO Chorus in this masterpiece which begins in darkest tragedy and ends with that roof-raising, all-embracing Ode to Joy. Let us introduce you to the sound of 21st century Scotland, too, with our first Scotch Snap: a magical new flute concerto, commissioned by the RSNO and performed by our very own Principal, Katherine Bryan.

Supported by the RSNO Conductors’ Circle.
