Fun for the young and the old(er), this interactive event will have all ages learning AND dancing! Hosted by Carmen Pieraccini, come join in and learn about the history of jazz music, the different instruments and styles.

Jazz was born as a result of a combining of cultures and musical styles including: Ragtime, Blues, African Folk Song, African Percussion Music, Work Song, South American & Afro-Cuban Music Hymns & Spirituals, European Classical Music, and European Marching Music.

The birth of Jazz was highly dependent on multiculturalism and societal enrichment as a result of immigration. Jazz is now recognised as a uniting musical language the world over!
