Glasgow’s Learning presents… A celebration of achievement in writing skills for Glasgow’s ESOL Learners.

In association with Glasgow Life and Glasgow ESOL Forum.

Amanda, Aimee and Dinushriya once again welcome ESOL learners to contribute to this free, community-based event as part of the Aye Write festival. In previous years, ESOL learners traditionally displayed their writing and shared their stories with audiences from Glasgow’s diverse communities. Normally working face to face to develop writing, the learners have triumphed in participating in this year’s festival by engaging in on-line learning and activities to produce stories, poetry and videos. A few learners have opted to have their writing read out on their behalf. The learners come from a range of countries including El Salvador, Iran and East Turkestan.

*This performance is pre-recorded and will be available to watch for three weeks after the broadcast date to accommodate different time zones.

This performance is included in the Aye Write 2021 festival pass, so you will not need to purchase this event if you have already purchased a pass. You can also access this content by registering for the subscription ‘Free events at Glasgow Life’.

Books are available to purchase from our bookseller partner Bookshop.org. Bookshop.org supports independent booksellers and for every book purchased 10% comes back to Aye Write and Wee Write, helping to invest in our city’s book festival and reader development programmes.
