Gordon Barr, co-founder of www.ScottishCinemas.org highlights the architectural history of cinema, including converted roller-skating rinks, the earliest purpose-built halls and the peculiarly Scottish "back court" theatres with a focus on the West End of Glasgow which has long been famous for the exceptional popularity of cinema-going amongst its citizens.
