Garrowhill we have a problem!!!! Glasgow Life Early Years, Children & Families team are looking for 10 young LEGO builders & programmers to help set up our new operation in outer space (Garrowhill Community Centre). The power is out, the satellite is down, the flight crew are stranded on the moon and the Mars rover is stuck. Can YOU help us?? No experience required as full ‘on the job’ training will be provided. Over 10 weeks each successful applicant will receive all the LEGO pieces, motors & sensors they need along with a tablet with Bluetooth connection to help.
There’s a lot of fun to be had before we can launch a successful mission. You will need to build & programme successful robots here on Earth first. They can even be tested with a robot Sumo Wrestling contest. Lots of experimentation and testing will be needed. Do you have what it takes to develop the solutions we need?
All you have to do is be one of the first 10 engineers/ programmers to come along to Garrowhill Community Centre on Tuesday, April 21st at 3.30pm & be in primary 6 or 7. An adult is required to complete a consent form then, each Tuesday for 10 weeks, you will develop programming, creative and problem solving skills.
To get the most out of this
opportunity participants will need to attend most, if not all, of the 10
sessions. This activity is not suitable for children younger than p6.
