On the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, Curator of British Art, Jo Meacock, will discuss this Henry Lamb portrait of Abdul Ghani who served in Force K6 of the Royal Indian Army Service Corps. Ghani was one of about 4,000 Indian soldiers who came to Britain in World War II, having been evacuated from Dunkirk following Germany’s invasion of France and Belgium.
