New Voices: Steven Blake

Equally at home with traditional piping, contemporary folk music and composition, Steven Blake has built a diverse career; performing as a member of RURA, running multi-genre youth music projects and composing & arranging contemporary instrumental music. Exploring ideas of home and place, Steven's New Voices commission uses found sounds and samples to weave lush textures around a simple raw piano spine.

Joining Steven will be Sorren Maclean (guitar), Seonaid Aitken, Alice Allen, Hannah Fisher and Patsy Reid, (strings), James Lindsay (bass), Chris Gray (piano), and John Lowrie (drums and samples).
