After six years fronting country-rock combo the Gramblers, singer-songwriter Nicki Bluhm addressed both the band’s and her marriage’s breakup on 2018’s heartfelt solo release, To Rise You Gotta Fall, a potent blend soul, country and gospel.

When not busy gigging with Old Crow Medicine Show, West Virginian singer and multi-instrumentalist Chance McCoy is a much-lauded solo performer, splicing old Appalachian tradition with contemporary indie-folk in a seamless mix of old, new and borrowed material.

Combining bluegrass, country, blues and Celtic strains in vibrant original songwriting, Cape Breton five-piece Pretty Archie – renowned for their powerhouse live performances - released their third album, Hanging On, in late 2018.
