Skippinish lead singer, Norrie MacIver's incredible voice thrills with great covers from his solo albums, The Lockdown Sessions and the heroines and heroes from Songs of Govan Old, with The Glasgow Barons.
A great night out for the whole family with the lead singer of Skippinish and winner of the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2021 for best online performance.
The Lockdown Sessions grew from Norrie and friends producing their favourite covers isolating at home, Lean on Me, Country Roads, along with traditional Gaelic songs. He also teamed up with The Glasgow Barons and Govan Reminiscence Group to pen new songs about local heroes, Mary Barbour, Elizabeth Elder, Private Lawrence Nealis and many more in Songs of Govan Old, one beautiful album celebrating them all.
Created by Paul MacAlindin, The Glasgow Barons, Govan's regeneration orchestra, revitalise local venues, working with the community to support Musicians in Exile, local hip hop artists and many more.
One night only for The Govan Music Festival
