“One of the lasting icons of the girl group era and a key influence on generations of female rockers” (AllMusic), Ronnie Spector is the embodiment of the heart, soul, and passion of female rock and roll in the 1960s. Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes headlined over acts including the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and The Yardbirds. Still at the top of their game, their track ‘Be My Baby’ was named by Billboard Magazine in 2017 as the #1 Greatest Girl Group Song of All Time, and Spector was presented with the Legend Award by The Woman's International Music Network at their She Rocks Award Ceremony.
Nigerian soul singer Unoma Okudo has adopted Glasgow as her home and made her mark on the city by performing at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in 2014. Performing tonight with her five-piece band, her hotly anticipated first EP, Odyssey, is out now on digital release.
