As its title suggests, RURA's majestic new album, In Praise of Home, was inspired by themes of belonging, heritage and a sense of place, while marking the band’s return to their all-instrumental beginnings. Its all-original material, on fiddle, pipes, whistles, flute, guitar, keyboards and bodhrán, builds on traditional roots with inventively spacious arrangements and subtly progressive production. “One of Scotland's most powerful contemporary folk bands” (Irish Music Magazine)

Galician trio Talabarte combine fiddle, nyckelharpa, accordion and double-bass with a wealth of experience in Berrogüetto, Marful and Susana Seivane’s band. Jazz, Latin and Balkan flavours enrich their startlingly full-bodied sound. Talabarte will also perform with special guest percussionist Dominique Molard, just for Celtic Connections. ” Top-notch musicians confident in their communication” (fRoots)
