Sports Psychology

Partnership

The partnership agreement between the university and Glasgow Sport is overseen by  by Dr Bryan McCann PhD (Lecturer in Psychology) from Glasgow Caledonian University.

The psychology team will regularly provide a programme of psychological services year-round to our pupils to support the sports performance and well-being of our athletes

We are working along the framework set up by former Sports Psychologist Chris Hartley who worked at the school from 2016 - 2019. During his time at School of Sport, Chris completed a Motivational Climate Intervention Study with our Hockey programme.

Sanika Divekar

Sanika, a former Indian National Table Tennis player knows all too well about the lofty highs of sport success and the perils of pressure. She believes in the best of human behaviour and high performance sport, which is why she was not satisfied with a Masters' degree, and is now scaling a Doctorate adventure at Glasgow Caledonian University. Sanika's mantra is 'one shoe does not fill all' and is personally determined to facilitate cross-cultural support to enable athletes to mark sporting success whilst emphasizing their mental well-being.
