Taking their socially aware cue from Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan and forging a musical path that combines the traditional core of the Dubliners and the Corries with the edge and exuberance of the Clash, the Pogues and the 2-Tone sound, the Wakes have forged their very own brand of folk ’n’ roll.

Theirs is music that reflects the city of their birth as a band, Glasgow, with triumph and heartache, protest and stoicism, struggle and celebration shaping their often anthemic songs, and their marriage of folk and rock creating live performances that are energetic, euphoric, and passionately committed.
