Glasgow Riverside Tour with Invisible Cities
Invisible Cities is a social enterprise that trains people who have experienced homelessness or social hardship to become walking tour guides of their own city.
The tours offer a meaningful and personal way to explore Glasgow, blending social impact with powerful storytelling and local history.
The Glasgow Riverside tour explores the city’s industrial and maritime legacy along the banks of the River Clyde. Starting and ending at the iconic Scottish Event Campus (SEC), this 90-minute walking tour invites you to discover the hidden stories of Glasgow’s shipbuilding past and its continued evolution. Led by guide Silvana, you’ll walk along the waterfront and learn about the city’s transformation from an industrial powerhouse to a hub of innovation, culture, and regeneration.
Along the way, you’ll hear stories of the communities who once worked on the river, explore how the area has changed, and reflect on what the future holds for Glasgow’s riverside. The route offers stunning views and fascinating facts, ideal for visitors and locals alike who want to see a different side of the city. All bookings support our non-profit work, creating opportunities and training for people facing social exclusion in Glasgow.
