We want everyone in Glasgow to take part in and enjoy our activities. We offer sensory bags, quiet times, reduced lighting and sound, special equipment and storyboards. You will find activities adapted for your needs and trained staff can help when needed.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Paid and unpaid carers are welcome to enter venues to provide support. As long as they are assisting you, there’s no cost. You will need to  provide evidence. 

To book their free place please contact the venue in advance. Depending on the activity or event they may need to book a free ticket before arrival or they can check in at reception.

Suggested evidence;

·       Disability Living Allowance  (DLA) Letter, Adult Disability Allowance Letter,  Personal Independence Payment(PIP) Letter,

·       Letter from Local Authority or Council

Assistance Dogs are welcome within all Glasgow Life buildings and venues. Other animals are generally not permitted. Glasgow Life’s Policy on Assistance Animals, Emotional Support Animals and Pets is available here.

At Glasgow Life our staff are offered a range of training and awareness sessions including;

Customers can leave and re-enter the theatre when they want. They are also welcome to move around during the performance

Yes. You are very welcome to bring sensory aids. Examples include fidget toys, cushions and headphones, ear defenders and sunglasses. Some venues have sensory bags available too. Some events may have bag checks on arrival, you should be able to take your sensory aids in. See venue webpages for more information or check with staff before you arrive.

Due to the nature of our buildings and activities we can't always offer a quiet space. Please contact staff in advance if this is something you require.

At Glasgow Life we have made some changes to our activities and venues. This may include all or some of the following;

  • Reduced lightening and noise

  • Staff are trained in Autism Awareness
  • Sensory bags are available to borrow
  • Quiet space available
  • Participants can move freely around the space.

The following Glasgow Life venues have changing place toilets available; Riverside Museum, the Burrell Collection, Kelvinhall, Parkhead Library, Glasgow Clubs Scotstoun, Tollcross and Bellahouston.
