Free help with reading, writing, and maths in Glasgow

Feel more confident with numbers or words!

Glasgow Life offers free classes for anyone aged 16 or older. You can learn at your own speed, and there are no tests or exams unless you choose to take them.

Our classes are small, relaxed, and take place in safe, welcoming community spaces and local libraries across Glasgow.

How these classes can help you

Everyone wants to learn different things. We will help you with whatever matters most to you.

Our students often use our classes to help them:

  • Read and reply to letters, emails, or texts.
  • Fill in forms for housing, work, or benefits.
  • Understand bills, receipts, and bank statements.
  • Help children or grandchildren with their school homework.
  • Learn how to use computers, tablets, or smartphones.
  • Get ready for further education or a new job.

Friendly support just for you

  • No pressure: You decide what you want to work on. You will never be rushed.

  • Expert tutors: Every small group has its own qualified teacher to guide you.

  • Access to computers: Where possible, you can use our computers and tech with full support from your tutor.
