Everything you need to know

Our activity days give disabled adults the opportunity to get active and make friends. Experienced coaches run the sessions, which offer a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

The sessions are great for people's mental and physical wellbeing. They also help people work up a sweat and smash personal bests. Those who are taking part have lost weight, gained confidence and independence.

Disability Activity Days run at:

- Glasgow Club Tollcross on Mondays between 10am and 2:30pm.

- Glasgow Club Gorbals on Wednesdays between 10am and 2:30pm

- Glasgow Club Springburn on Fridays between 10am and 2pm.

Activities across the day include:

- Boccia

- Circuits

- Multi-sports

- Supervised gym sessions

Although, when possible, we adapt the sessions and take on customer feedback.

For example, virtual spin sessions are included from time-to-time.

No, you are more than welcome to be there for part of the session. You can drop in, and drop out as you please.

Sessions are semi-structured, and coaches take on board what participants would like to do.

Adults with disabilities. Our coaches make sure all the activities are inclusive. They are also adaptable for wheelchair users and people with more complex disabilities or health conditions.

I love coming here doing exercises and I got all my friends around me so I sit and chat with them. And I love coming to gym.

Why Disability Activity Days are so important

Our Lead Sport and Physical Activity Coach, David Seager, explains the benefits of the sessions.

The most rewarding part is just seeing all the guys having fun, meeting new friends and coming along and just smiling the full day. Working hard, getting a sweat on and just having fun. The freedom, the confidence and independence is massive for them.
