Known for her jazz-infused voice and deft songcraft, Kaia Kater is redefining the sound of contemporary folk and Americana. Born in Montreal of Grenadian descent, Kater is a Polaris Music Prize long-listed singer-songwriter whose music is a powerful synthesis of Appalachian folk, her Caribbean heritage, and the modern sounds of jazz and alt-rock. Critics, including Rolling Stone and The Guardian, have hailed her work as a "quiet, yet powerful storm."

For this special Celtic Connections show, Kaia is joined by a line-up of esteemed Friends, promising an electrifying and collaborative performance that showcases the full, lush potential of her complex arrangements. Expect everything from raw folk ballads to soaring, multi-textured anthems.
