RNIB Community Hubs 

Do you have a vision impairment or sight loss? Do you know or support someone who does?

The Royal National Institute of Blind people (RNIB) are hosting social spaces in some Glasgow Life Libraries with the aim of breaking down barriers and reducing isolation for blind and partially sighted people. 

Come along to your local RNIB Community Hub to chat to other blind and partially sighted people. 

Peer support is a great way of sharing advice and our friendly staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide further information about our services or make local referrals. Whether you’d like to discuss the latest technology or your favourite audio book, we’re here to provide a friendly space to meet others, no matter your level of sight loss. 

We can also: 

  • Provide information about sight loss
  • Refer to local sensory teams and organisations
  • Signpost to local activities and events for visually impaired people

We’re keen to bring together everyone with a vison impairment and take on board your feedback to deliver the best possible service.

Our Community Hubs currently run on a monthly basis although this can    increase based on demand. 


We are currently based in the following locations and are open for anyone with a vision impairment to attend:


GoMA Library            11am - 1pm on the second Wednesday of the month

Castlemilk Library    11am - 1pm on the third Tuesday of the month

Baillieston Library     10:30am - 12 noon on the second Thursday of the month

Mitchell Library            11am - 1pm on the last Thursday of the month

Easterhouse Library at the Bridge – Book Group launching 9th May 2024 From 1pm-3pm then every second Thursday from 1pm-3pm.


You can also join the RNIB Glasgow Book Group on the first Saturday of each month from 3pm in GoMA Library.
