Approaching their 43rd year, Dervish remain in the forefront of Irish bands by which aspiring traditional acts aim their sights. With today’s seven-piece still featuring four original members – plus singer Cathy Jordan, who joined within two years – those founders’ Sligo roots still anchor Dervish’s music today, together with their consummate collective skills at engaging afresh with old tunes and songs, and winning over audiences worldwide. As the latest triumphant case in point, their 2019 album The Great Irish Songbook revisits all-time classic ballads with a lavish transatlantic guest-list including Steve Earle, Rhiannon Giddens, David Gray and Kate Rusby.
The most compelling, most soulful Irish traditional band playing today” (Delaware News Journal)

A four-woman showcase for the beauty, buoyancy and breadth of Welsh folk song today, Pedair comprises the sparklingly diverse talents of Gwenan Gibbard, Gwyneth Glyn, Meinir Gwilym and Siân James. Fresh settings of traditional material feature alongside eloquent original compositions, self-accompanied on harps, guitars, piano and accordion.
