Tramway Local, our regular networking event promoting arts and community projects happening in the local area, will this season be facilitated by Kate E. Deeming.

Kate E. is a local artist, a community councillor and a solo mother to a young child.  Through dance, installation, film and cake, she has cultivated an idiosyncratic artistic practice which seeks to awaken shared spaces, leading to a stronger sense of connection with self and the world.

"We are asking questions related to advocacy, community and the arts. How can we better manage our cultural offerings to be more inclusive? What are the barriers to participation? How can we challenge ideas around hierarchies and status within the arts to celebrate our vibrant and varied talents?”

Presentations will be by:
-Carolyn Davren, Headteacher, Pollokshields Primary, speaking on their Community Club
-Clare Harker, Headteacher, St. Alberts, speaking on their community engaged projects
-Rev Peter Gardner, Minister to the Visual Arts Communities of Glasgow
-Bob Moyler, Coordinator, Festival 2018 Parade
-Arma Nobel from Awaz Radio
-Lisa Peebles from Ready Steady Grow
Kate E. will also be speaking on a recent 5 film project with a local premiere on 24 June. Produced by the Pollokshields Community Council, it involved 40 of our local children and their parents/carers across the four primary schools!

It is free to attend Tramway local but please register in advance. Email ArtMusicLearning@glasgowlife.org.uk / phone 0141 302 2810
