Burrell Collection launches latest publication Introducing British Silver
The Burrell Collection is delighted to announce the launch of the last in a series of 'Introducing...' publications, focusing on key curatorial areas of the collection.
Introducing British Silver is one of a series of new books exploring items acquired by the famous 20th-century Glaswegian shipping magnate and philanthropist Sir William Burrell and Constance, Lady Burrell, his wife, for their vast collection of art.
The book's author Laura Bauld is curator of decorative arts at Glasgow Life Museums. Her current research is centred on British Decorative Arts from 1603-1800, including metalwork, glass, and furniture. She is presently exploring Sir William Burrell as a collector of silver and glass in the early 20th century. Find out more on The Burrell Collection website here.
Laura's book is available to buy at the Burrell or via the Glasgow Life Online Shop, priced at £9.99.
