Caroline crowned People's Hero at ASVA Ceremony

Caroline Currie, Learning and Access Curator at the Burrell Collection, has won the People's Hero Award at the ASVA Awards 2025. ASVA is the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions. An organisation that celebrates the best places to visit in Scotland. They recognise the people who make Scotland's visitor attractions world-class, unforgettable experiences.

ASVA presented Caroline with her award at a special event in Perth on Wednesday 19 November. The award recognises her work with local communities and her efforts to make sure everyone feels welcome in our museums.

Caroline said: "I was very pleased and surprised to be shortlisted for the ASVA Inspiring People Awards in the People's Hero category. Juliet Fellowes-Smith (Burrell Collections Manager) nominated me for my work with communities. Including Ukrainian organisations, Refugee groups, various Chinese communities, and local groups. As well as for my efforts to ensure the Burrell is welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all.

"I was shocked and overwhelmed to be named People's Champion at the ASVA conference this week. Although I am proud of myself, I am especially pleased that ASVA has shone a light on the amazing work the Learning and Access team do. Any one of us could have won this award."

Congratulations to Caroline for her win!
