Celebrating Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery

On Thursday 5 November, the Mitchell Library team celebrated the launch of Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery, an exhibition exploring the life and legacy of the world's bestselling novelist.

Delivered in partnership with the British Library and the Living Knowledge Network, the exhibition celebrates the enduring appeal of the Queen of Crime, from her much-loved characters Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, to her influence on crime writers today.

The launch event brought together colleagues and contributors who helped bring the exhibition to life, offering an afternoon of readings, conversation and refreshments. Guests had the opportunity to discover more about the stories, memories and creative work behind the exhibition, celebrating the people and ideas that shaped the project.

The exhibition is on display at the Mitchell Library until Thursday 31 December 2026. A programme of accompanying activities, including workshops, exhibition tours, talks and family-friendly events, will also take place throughout the exhibition period. Find out more on our website here.
