Changing Places Awareness Day
Tomorrow (Saturday 19 July) is Changing Places Awareness Day. It’s a day we’re proud to support, raising vital awareness and recognising the life-changing difference Changing Places toilets make to people’s lives. As Brett and his daughter Ruth share in this short film, these specially designed spaces make it possible for people with complex disabilities and their families to enjoy a day out like everyone else. And as Fiona from PAMIS explains, essential equipment like an adult-sized changing table and a hoist, offers visitors greater comfort, dignity and independence, allowing them to make the most of their time at places like Riverside Museum.
In addition to Riverside, you’ll also find Changing Places toilets at Glasgow Clubs Scotstoun, Tollcross and Bellahouston, Parkhead Library, the Burrell Collection and Kelvin Hall as we continue working to make Glasgow a truly inclusive and welcoming city for all.
