Glasgow Life hosts Peoples Ford Parkinson's Walking Football Festival
The Peoples Ford Parkinson's Walking Football Festival returned to Toryglen Regional Football Centre earlier this month.
The event on Saturday 16 November, hosted by Glasgow Life's football development team, saw 12 sides from across the UK compete for the title, all while raising awareness of Parkinson's and the benefits that taking part in physical activity has for people living with the neurological condition.
With over 40 different symptoms, Parkinson's can be different for every person with the condition. Around 153,000 people within the UK are living with Parkinson's and it continues to be the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world.
The stands at Toryglen were full of Scottish football icons, including Rose Reilly, Murdo MacLeod, Billy Dodds, Shelley Kerr and Gordon Smith.
Community spirit, camaraderie and lots of laughs were on show throughout the day. Highlights of the event are available on the Peoples Ford Facebook page: www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1617850479149378.
