Good news for Sauchiehall Street: Culture and Heritage District

We’re excited to share that the Sauchiehall Street Culture and Heritage District project has received £2.3 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). This funding is a big step forward for one of Glasgow’s most famous streets. It shows strong support for its cultural future.

The funding will help restore important heritage spaces, such as the McLellan Galleries. Groups such as the Scottish Ensemble, Glasgow Film, and the youth charity Articulate will move in and start activities there later this year. Bringing new energy to this well-loved landmark.

We also plan to restore the Victorian Cameron Memorial Fountain, make more improvements to heritage buildings, and host artist-led activities and cultural events.

All these projects will help Sauchiehall Street become a lively and welcoming place for culture, heritage, and community. They will also support the area’s economic and social renewal in the years ahead.
