Three new Artists in Communities projects are set to launch in Garnethill, the East End and Castlemilk, inviting local people to take part in creative activity exploring the climate emergency.

What's happening where -

  • Garnethill: Join the Dots collective will build on the area's history of activism and creativity through performance, food events and growing projects.
  • East End: Artist Ciara Neufeldt will use the changing seasons to explore climate-conscious choices using craft, clay and ceramics.
  • Castlemilk: Laura Bradshaw and Murray Wason will turn a vacant shop unit into a welcoming creative hub, with workshops and events across the community.

For the first time, the programme is supported by Creative Scotland Multi Year Funding, allowing artists and collectives to work alongside local communities over two years, using art and culture to support participation, connection and social change.

Since 2018, AiC has supported 35+ artists and organisations to deliver 92 projects reaching over 98,000 people across Glasgow. Alongside the new projects, a new web page brings together past projects, celebrating the artists and communities involved.
