Our Volunteer Recognition Tree is growing
On Thursday 24 September, we came together at the Royal Concert Hall to celebrate our amazing volunteers by adding more leaves to our beautiful Volunteer Recognition Tree.
We unveiled the tree last year as a lasting tribute to the commitment of our volunteers and the huge difference they make in our communities. Designed by artist Claudia Ashley-Brown, the tree is a striking piece of wall art featuring engraved leaves. Each leaf highlights a volunteer milestone. Bronze for five years, silver for ten, and gold for fifteen or more.
At last week's celebration event, we added an additional 33 leaves to reflect new milestones. Together, these leaves represent over a thousand years of support given back to Glasgow.
Volunteers were able to catch up with friends and enjoy some refreshments while capturing selfies with their newly added leaves.
As one of Scotland's biggest charities, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether that's welcoming visitors to our museums and libraries, supporting arts and music projects, helping in our sports venues, or assisting at major events, the contribution of volunteers is essential.
