On Tuesday 30 September, Glasgow Life Libraries, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Community Development team, hosted a Health and Wellbeing Day at Royston Library. The library welcomed around 75 people from local families and services to enjoy a day focussing on looking after all aspects of wellbeing for a happy and healthy life.

There was a wide range of support on offer, with advice on family finances and Universal Credit to information from RNID, Chest Heart and Stroke, the Glasgow Food Alliance, Glaucoma UK, Breastfeeding Network Volunteers, Reader Development, and our Digital team. People were also able to access free health checks, as well as food and drink provided by the Royston Community Hub Café.

Families and children from St Roch's Nursery particularly loved the special visit from Bookbug, which was a real highlight, and the young people had the chance to try out the interactive Happiness Programme kit, which went down really well.

David McCready, Community Services Officer said: "The Health and Wellbeing Day at Royston Library was a huge success, with lots of good conversations, helpful advice shared, engaging activities for children, free health checks completed, and families leaving feeling more connected and supported. Well done to all for pulling the event together and creating such a welcoming atmosphere at the library".
