Amanda Brown from the HR team attended one of the sessions recently and told us how she got on:
How was the session run? This was classroom style with three presenters and was the right balance of information and interaction.
What did you learn during the session? About the difficulties that individuals experiencing cancer can face in the workplace and how to support them. We also learned how to support ourselves, family and friends who know someone affected by cancer.
What was the feedback like afterwards? Extremely positive – everyone felt the session was very inspirational with the right balance of information and reflection. Attendees said it gave them increased confidence in being able to have supportive conversations with individuals affected by cancer.
Would you recommend the session to colleagues and what would they get out of it? I would absolutely recommend this session to any colleague, and I think they would learn, engage and also be inspired by the session. It focuses on wellbeing, communication, and mutual support.
