Social Dance brings joy and connection to our communities

Glasgow Club Donald Dewar recently hosted its second Social Dance. The event for local residents was a resounding success.
The afternoon began with the usual programmed dance class, led by coach Donna Smith. She brought the energy with great music and engaging moves that got everyone dancing.
Dancers then enjoyed a delightful spread of soup, sandwiches, and homemade baking. Courtesy of talented colleague Helen Jackson.
The venue was beautifully decorated by Helen, Linda Sweeten, Tracey Anderson, and Kirsty Thomson. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that truly impressed our guests.
Debbie Denholm-McLeod, Area Manager, said:
“Following the success of last year’s Christmas Social Dance, this event has become a cherished part of our community calendar. It’s more than dancing. It’s about staying active, boosting mental wellbeing, and building connections. For some attendees, this class is their main social interaction of the week. Many now come twice weekly, gaining confidence and joy through participation.
A massive shout-out to the incredible team who made this happen. Your dedication and creativity continue to make a real difference in people’s lives”.
