The world’s biggest celebration of piping returns to Glasgow

Bagpipers in tartan kilts perform outside Fenway Park beneath a welcome banner as crowds gather along the street.

Glasgow’s popular Piping Live! citywide festival kicks off on Sunday, 9 August ahead of the 2026 World Pipe Band Championships taking place at Glasgow Green on Friday 10 August and Saturday 10 August.

The city is looking forward to once again welcoming visitors from near and far to experience and enjoy the spectacular sights and sounds of the world’s biggest celebration of piping, which will see the best talent in pipes and drums from all over the globe gathering in Glasgow.

You can get into the spirit by enjoying a free, fun and energetic performance by the Boston-based Stuart Highlanders Pipe Band – who joined the iconic Tartan army’s unforgettable World Cup parade to Fenway Park earlier this summer. Catch them outside Glasgow Royal Concert Hall at the top of Buchanan Street at 4pm on Monday 10 August, and no tickets are required.
