June 2026
For our monthly calendar theme for June, we are looking at the importance of movement.
Regular movement transforms both physical and mental health. By simply raising your heart rate, you release natural mood-boosters, lower stress hormones, and build long-term resilience against chronic diseases like heart conditions, diabetes, and certain cancers.
To maximize these perks, the NHS Exercise Guidelines recommend adults aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity (like a brisk walk or cycling) per week. If you are starting fresh, remember that any amount of movement is better than none!
