Business and Strategy commitments

Each year, we ask all colleagues to get involved in our Colleague Engagement Survey. We want to know what’s going well, what could be better, and how we can better support you at work. Your responses help shape how each service area moves forward.
With the next survey coming up in September 2025, we’re sharing a short series of conversations with our Senior Leaders. Each one is a chance to hear how they listened to your feedback and what they’ve done since last year’s survey.
Each service area has its own priorities, challenges and successes. These interviews highlight what’s changed, what’s still to come, and how your voice has made a difference.
We spoke to Lynda Campbell, Head of Business and Strategy to hear about the commitments the team has been introducing in 2025.
Hello Lynda. What have your team been celebrating based on the results of the 2024 Colleague Survey?
We once again achieved a 100% completion rate for the team. We were pleased to see a 6% increase in our positivity scores from the previous year. Highlights include a 100% positive scores for the statements ‘My manager treats me with respect’, and for ‘My manager trusts me to get on with my job’.
We have been celebrating this by committing to a 100% target for all colleagues to participate in regular performance reviews and contribute to a training needs analysis for the team. We have also embedded opportunities for colleagues to give and receive feedback in our team culture.
So, what are the areas your team is working on to improve?
We have been focusing on improving learning and development opportunities by completing a training needs analysis with each team member, developing a menu of learning opportunities, and identifying time in the working week to complete them.
What has the Business and Strategy team set out to start doing following their survey results?
We have created mechanisms which allow all colleagues to put their views and ideas forward. We have also been offering the Business and Strategy team as a consultation service, inviting all service areas to come to us during the development of their strategies and action plans.
‘I believe the results of this survey will be acted upon’ is our lowest scoring statement at 60% so we have committed to ensuring that our colleague survey commitments are a standing agenda item for Business & Strategy team meetings and that progress for our all commitments are regularly monitored through an action plan.
