Josie KO
Project description
Inspired by Sauchiehall Street’s iconic bars and pubs, Josie proposes a collaboration with the community to develop a series of outdoor sculptures. This work will follow on from Craig McCorquodale and Molly Jack’s 24 Things To Tell you commission, which responded to some of the street’s bars and nightlife venues. Josie’s project will have a more in-depth focus to activate the street through architecture and stories from its pubs and bars from the local community and venue operators.
Significantly, this project will also foreground more inclusive narratives, highlighting the more unknown parts of Sauchiehall Street’s nightlife history for POC communities and sober club nights, demonstrating the diversity of experiences the street has hosted over the years.
Josie will work closely with Stuck? Collective at their new site at 522 Sauchiehall Street, as well as local pubs and communities from wider Glasgow to collaborate on the commission.
