North West Community Planning Partnership Area, Phase 4, Exploring Shared Culture

As part of the Glasgow Life Creative Communities: Artists in Communities programme in the North West Community Planning Partnership Area, Manu Kurewa from Ignite Theatre delivered workshops that explored Chinese culture through movement, storytelling, and music.

Working with Clyde Primary School and Almond View Care Home, participants explored aspects of Chinese culture and heritage while drawing connections to their cultural experiences.

Manu also brought together young people and older adults in a shared creative space. This intergenerational approach broke down stereotypes and encouraged community connectedness. Participants experienced improved well-being through creative expression, while movement-based activities supported physical health. The workshops highlighted the power of the arts in building bridges across generations and cultures.
