South Community Planning Partnership Area, Castlemilk Arts Hub
Resident locally, and working collaboratively across disciplines including performance, film and visual arts, Laura and Murray are transforming a disused shop unit in Castlemilk Shopping Arcade into a vibrant, accessible creative hub.
From this base, they will offer creative workshops led both by themselves and selected artists, establishing resident-led arts groups to deliver performance events in Castlemilk’s streets, woodland and river settings.
Castlemilk, which has a long history of grassroots activism and community engagement, faces significant local challenges from the climate crisis. Castlemilk Arts Hub aims to empower residents to respond creatively to these realities, using art to connect environmental awareness with wellbeing and community action.
A key partner in this project is Cassiltoun Housing Association.
