Awaz FM: Voices of the Commonwealth - Community Journalism & Cultural Broadcasting

Join us at Kelvingrove Park during the Commonwealth Games where Awaz FM will be broadcasting live from the Glasgow 2026 live site. Our presenters and journalists will speak to people who are attending the Games, including visitors, community members, athletes, volunteers, organisers and local groups to capture the atmosphere of the Games and share the voices of the community.  Broadcasting live from 4-6pm every day and 12-6pm on Saturdays and 12-3pm on Sundays. 

Our journalists will carry out short interviews, gather people’s stories, give updates from the live site, and talk about what is happening each day. They will also ask people about their experiences, their connection to sport, and what the Commonwealth Games means to them. This will help bring the event to listeners who may not be able to attend in person.

Throughout Awaz FM schedule we will focus on important community topics such as migration, youth voices, women in sport, identity, culture, and belonging. The programmes will include a mix of music, interviews, discussions and personal stories.

Through live radio, online programmes, music and conversation, Awaz FM will help connect people, share experiences, and highlight the diversity of Glasgow and its communities.
