Healing the spirit of women is at the heart of the new Amazones d’Afrique’s single 'Amazones Power', a revolutionary song that frees speech and creates the space necessary for the construction of a different future in which no gender domination will hinder the place of women. Their first album was highly acclaimed by the press, and was listed as one of President Obama’s albums of the year for 2017. Using music as the means of change, the Les Amazones d’Afrique create a platform for infinite expression.

Five events will make up Celtic Connections in the Community, including a workshop opportunity with festival artists who will then perform with workshop participants at this special BEMIS show. Our Celtic Connections in the Community events will enable local and diverse Glasgow communities to showcase the best of Scotland’s contemporary cultural traditions and work with professional artists to bring a special collaborative performance to a world-renowned festival.
