by Marge Monko (Estonian Union of Photography Artists, Foku)

Part of Estonia Now, celebrating 100 years of Estonia

As part of Estonia Now, TalkSeePhotography hosts a screening of artists' moving image curated by multidisciplinary artist Marge Monko (EST) and followed by a conversation about contemporary love.

Marge Monko is an Estonian artist working in photography, video and installation. Most of her works link to some historical events and are influenced by psychoanalysis, feminism and theory of visual culture. Her recent projects are inspired by commercial displays – show windows and interiors that are often borrowing elements from fine art and classical architecture.

This artist talk is a side event for artists' moving image programme "Trial and Error", a part of Estonia Now festival celebrating 100 years of Estonia and running at Tramway November 12–18.

Foku
Estonian Union of Photography Artists (Foku) was created in 2007 to introduce and develop contemporary art and visual culture as well as to engage different audiences in the discussion about art. Since 2011 Foku has organised Tallinn Photomonth – an artist led biennial of contemporary art and visual culture. Tallinn Photomonth looks at developments in art and society in a world mediated by cameras, screens and images.
